Kamakura Daibutsu

Our first destination was Kamakura Daibutsu.

We took a train from kawaguchi station and bellow is the root.

     ↓keihin tohoku line towards isogo

Shinbashi station

     ↓yokosuka line towards zushi

Kamakura station

when we reached Kamakura station it was raining. So we decided to hop on a bus from kamakura bus station. The Bus service  in japan is very reliable.

    ↓ bus no 4 or 2

Daibutsu-mae(6th stop)

You can take bus number   02 or 04 and get down from Daibutsu-mae bus station. Then cross the road and in to the entrance of  Kamakura Daibutsu.

When you walk in through the entrance gate you will find the Kamakura City Tourist map. 

All most in all the tourist attraction sites in Japan maps are located and it's real easy to navigate using them. 

Before entering the temple it is etiquette washing hands. 

you can use a ladle (wooden spoon like object) at the purification fountain to take water and wash hands.

Iit is said that it took around ten (10) years to complete this outdoor  bronze statue "The Great Buddha of Kamakura.
